Privacy
Nothing you submit is stored. Text you submit is analysed in memory and discarded when the response is sent. It is never written to storage, logs or analytics, and SmuggleCheck makes no network requests: it never fetches URLs found in your text.
That includes decoded hidden text, URLs and names you compare: they appear only in the response sent back to you.
What is kept:
- Daily visitor count: a one-way hash of your network address combined with a secret salt and the date, used only to count unique daily visitors. The address itself is never stored, the hash is not linked to anything you submit, and it expires after 9 days.
- Rate limits: per-minute limits are counted by Cloudflare's rate limiter, keyed by network address (or API key), and are not stored by SmuggleCheck.
- A running count of anonymous checks per UTC day.
- Free API keys: only a SHA-256 hash of each key, its creation date and a monthly usage count. No email, no name, no submitted text.
No cookies, no trackers, no analytics scripts.
